Take a new approach to homeschooling and instill a sense of adventure and love of learning in YOUR student with our SCUBA-based education program for homeschool students ages 12 and up!
Over the course of this month-long program, students will learn the maths and sciences behind diving and practically apply this knowledge through self-paced online classes, SCUBA certification courses, and environmental cleanups all while earning college credits and community service hours.
Students will earn:
- 5 Full College Credits
- PADI Open Water Diver Certification
- PADI Adventure Diver Certification
- Emergency First Response w/ CPR and AED
- PADI Rescue Diver Certification
- Community Service hours
- An introduction to the professional world of SCUBA through career guest speakers and specialty certification classes taught by professionals in different fields of diving
Students will also receive a mesh dive gear bag equipped with:
- Their own personal mask/snorkel/fins/booties set
- Towel, Rashguard, Bang Wrangler, Mouthpiece, and Surface Marker Buoy
Where?
All classroom and pool training sessions will take place at Emerald Coast Scuba in our large indoor classroom and on-site state of the art HEATED 13ft deep swimming pool
Open Water training sessions will be conducted on one of our boats or in our local freshwater springs an hour north of Destin— Vortex Spring and Morrison Spring
Beach cleanups will take place at Norriego Point Beach Access in Destin
Class size:
Classes require a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 12 students per session
Prerequisites:
- Students must be at least 12 years of age to enroll
- Must be medically cleared to scuba dive
- Must be able to swim at least 300m unassisted while wearing mask, snorkel, and fins
- Float or tread water safely for 10min
- Participate in a Try Diving experience prior to first day of class
Required Forms:
- PADI Medical Statement
- Science-SEA Registration Form
- Boat Release
- Dive Against Debris Event Release
- Science-SEA Learning Agreement
- Parent/Guardian Consent

- October/November 4 week course

Emerald Coast Scuba is licensed by the Florida Department of Education and approved by the VA. Our instructors are also highly trained divers certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors and are trained to at least the Master Diver Trainer level or higher.
